In 2024, South County Santa Barbara saw a total of 1,233 home sales, reflecting a 12% increase compared to the previous year. This growth was driven by a 16% rise in house sales, reaching 894 transactions, while condo sales saw a modest 2% increase, totaling 339 sales.

The 2024 real estate market followed familiar seasonal trends, with home sales peaking in late spring and early summer before tapering off in the latter half of the year. May and June recorded the highest sales, with 120 homes sold, reflecting strong buyer activity during the prime selling season. Meanwhile, January saw the lowest number of sales at 85, a typical slowdown after the holiday season.

The 2024 "sales by area" chart highlights Santa Barbara as the most active market with 558 sales, followed by Goleta at 369 and Montecito at 163. Carpinteria recorded 113 sales, while the luxury market remained exclusive with 17 sales in Hope Ranch. Summerland had the fewest sales at 13, consistent with its smaller market.
