Truth be told no one had ever given me a recommendation at that point in my life and so I just started calling through the yellow pages. The difference between our first realtor and the Zia Group was night and day. Everything felt tailored to exactly what we wanted within what we could afford. His team always responded quickly and helpfully and surprisingly, to me, even on weekends. We had the opportunity to sell our condo and buy a different house in the last year. It could not have been easier. And since our first purchase years ago Dan is always the first person I recommend to friends.

I knew Daniel was a good Real Estate agent but I had no idea how great him and his team actually are. Everyone on the team was extremely helpful and willing to go out of their way to make us happy. We were buying a home for the first time and they dealt with my never ending questions with such patience. It was always about us having a good experience and what is best for us. In a town with approximately 10,000 realtors, it is a major achievement to be voted Best Realtor for multiple years by the Santa Barbara Independent’s annual poll. After having Daniel represent us for the purchase of our home, I see why he earned that award. Our transaction was not easy. We had challenges with a short sale from the seller and the bank. And, in today’s much stricter lending environment, our preferred method of financing was very difficult too. Throughout the entire transaction, from getting the offer in immediately upon the property going onto the market, to bumps in the road along the way, Daniel always offered knowledgeable advice and a positive yet realistic attitude. Never once did I feel like he was a sales person, but always a consultant with our best interest as first priority. As owner of five properties and having used five separate realtors, I can say with complete certainty that Daniel Zia is the real deal.
This was the first home purchase for both of us. We actually thought of trying to go it alone, but I’m so glad we didn’t! Daniel was always responsive, available for questions throughout the day and flexible with his time. He took the time to describe all the paperwork and to walk us through anything we were concerned about. He explained inspections, what our expectations should be, and looked out for our needs every step of the way. I particularly appreciated his suggestion to take the time to write a thoughtful letter of introduction to include with our offer. It allowed us to connect with the out-of-town sellers in a way that I don’t think would have been possible otherwise. I also particularly appreciated his willingness to communicate electronically, which is a standard in my daily business practice and probably the only way I could have fit house-hunting/offering/financing into my busy life.
