Rafael is a born and raised Santa Barbara native. His passion for real estate began at an early age, when he witnessed his parents, a first-generation immigrant family, achieve success through owning their first home and later through residential investment properties. He graduated from the University of California at Santa Barbara where he received a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Accounting with a minor in Philosophy. While in attendance, Rafael was a member of the Nationally ranked Men’s Soccer Team and name’s making the team as a walk-on freshman as one of his greatest accomplishments.
Rafael’s love for the sport continued after graduation and soon developed into a new passion for working with kids after his first season as trainer for a boys U13 Santa Barbara Soccer Club team. He now volunteers as a career coach for high school students through Santa Barbara’s Partners in Education and is also a board member for Vida Center, a non-profit organization which strives to empower our youth through community involvement and education.
Rafael comes from a background in the financial service industry where he helped manage billions of dollars worth or retirement plan assets and still holds his Series 7 and 66. He understands that a client’s home is one of their greatest assets and strives to provide prudent advice based on each client’s goals. Rafael combines his passion for service with his desire to be the most knowledgeable agent by constantly pursuing additional education to expand his expertise. He is a certified Pricing Strategy Advisor, Short Sale and Foreclosure Resource, and ePro technology professional poised to compete effectively in today’s market.
In his spare time, Rafael enjoys a good happy hour with friends in the Funk Zone, spending time with his family, and seeking adventures through travel or the outdoors.
